Observing forests, preserving uniqueness
Observing forests, preserving uniqueness
The international Day of Forests, celebrated each 21st of March, highlights the importance forest ecosystems. Through this StoryMap, BIOPAMA Team wanted to highlight the importance of forest monitoring, the use of Earth Observation and the role of BIOPAMA Programme on forest conservation. Understanding the state of the forests and tracking the progress towards national and international targets, is fundamental for conservation forest outcomes. In BIOPAMA, through the Reference Information System we can link data on forest state and pressure to targets for protection and restoration activities.
