State of the Wildlife Economy in Africa
State of the Wildlife Economy in Africa
In early March 2021, a group of researchers from the School of Wildlife Conservation (SOWC) at the African Leadership University, in collaboration with the BIOPAMA Team at the Joint Research Centre-European Commission, published a new report on the State of the Wildlife Economy in Africa. The report demonstrates the value of wildlife activities to local and national economies. The BIOPAMA team at the Joint Research Centre contributed maps and analysis to the report, clearly highlighting the fundamental importance of gathering and publishing comprehensive and reliable data on all aspects of the wildlife economy, from statistics on leisure tourism to measures of wildlife resources and indicators of economic potential. The StoryMap is an interactive version of some key topics of the report. Here is the full report: https://sowc.alueducation.com/programs/research/
