On 24-25 November 2025, leaders of the European Union (EU) member states and countries of the African Union (AU) met in Luanda, Angola for the seventh EU-African Union summit. This multilateral summit was co-chaired by the President of Angola, João Lourenço, and the President of the European Council, António Costa. The EU was also represented by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
Marking 25 years of EU-AU partnership, the Summit came at a pivotal time as Angola held the rotating African Union presidency. Leaders focused on strengthening cooperation in key areas such as peace and security, economic integration, trade, multilateralism, green development, digitalisation, migration, mobility and human development.
